Pathway to Care

Supporting Your Healing Journey

Our commitment to the well-being of immigrants and asylum seekers extends beyond providing mental health evaluations. We understand that the evaluation is often just the first step on a longer journey toward healing. While we maintain the objectivity of our evaluations by not offering ongoing therapy directly, we are dedicated to ensuring our clients have access to the mental health support they deserve. Recognizing that language differences, financial constraints, and lack of insurance are barriers to our clients receiving ongoing mental health treatment, we proudly established the Pathway to Care program.

Introducing Pathway to Care

The Pathway to Care program is designed to connect our evaluation clients with ongoing mental health treatment in a way that feels comfortable to them. After a mental health evaluation with For All Counseling, qualifying clients have the choice to continue with mental health treatment through either group or individual therapy.

The Need for Pathway to Care

Our mental health evaluations often include specific recommendations for therapeutic interventions tailored to the individual’s experiences and needs. However, without additional support, many of our clients face significant obstacles in accessing this crucial care. The Pathway to Care program directly addresses these barriers, ensuring that individuals who have experienced trauma can receive the specialized therapy they need, even when language, cost, or insurance limitations would otherwise prevent it. We believe that access to trauma-informed care is essential for long-term well-being and successful integration.

Our Collaborative Partner

Clients who have experienced severe trauma require the specialized support of therapists who possess a deep understanding of trauma, its complex symptoms, and the potential for re-traumatization. We are proud to partner with AM Counseling and Consulting, a dedicated team of multilingual and multicultural therapists who are expertly trained in providing trauma-informed care. Their expertise ensures that our clients receive culturally sensitive and effective therapy that honors their unique experiences.

How Pathway to Care Works

The Pathway to Care program is designed to seamlessly connect eligible clients with the ongoing therapy they need following their mental health evaluation with For All Counseling. Here’s a breakdown of how the process works:

Following the completion of your comprehensive mental health evaluation with For All Counseling, our dedicated team will carefully assess your individual needs and the available resources within the Pathway to Care program. This assessment ensures that we can connect you with the most appropriate therapeutic support.

Thanks to the generous funding of our community partners, both individual therapy and group therapy is offered to our evaluations clients at no charge. The funding we receive for the Pathway to Care program ensures that our evaluation clients who most need ongoing therapy can access these specialty mental health services.

Our Commitment to Client Choice

We firmly believe that healing is a deeply personal process, and the most effective support respects individual needs and preferences. The Pathway to Care program is designed to empower our clients by offering them a choice of treatment modalities and the opportunity to connect with a therapist at AM Counseling and Consulting whose approach resonates with them. Our goal is to facilitate a therapeutic relationship that feels safe, supportive, and conducive to healing.

Individual Therapy

Our Pathway to Care program offers ongoing individual therapy for uninsured clients diagnosed with PTSD. Because effective treatment for PTSD requires specialized expertise, we ensure that clients are connected with trauma-trained clinicians. This program allows qualifying low-income individuals to access high-quality, trauma-informed mental health care. Clinicians participating in the Individual Pathway to Care are trained in the following evidence-based trauma modalities:

A powerful and focused treatment method that helps clients identify, process, and release deep-seated trauma and emotional experiences that are often stored in the brain and body.

A therapy approach that focuses on helping individuals reshape negative or unhelpful thoughts and behaviors related to traumatic experiences, equipping them with skills to manage and cope with the effects of trauma.

A comprehensive therapy that provides clients with essential skills in managing intense emotions, reducing self-destructive behaviors, improving interpersonal relationships, and increasing distress tolerance.

Group Therapy

Through our ongoing partnership with AM Counseling, free group therapy is offered to the community in Spanish. Please note that the specific group therapy offerings may vary in availability, so we encourage you to inquire about the current options when you contact us for an evaluation. These groups are open to our evaluation clients as well as the broader community.
