Makenzie Schmitt

Makenzie Schmitt is the visionary Founder and Executive Director of For All Counseling and a licensed independent mental health practitioner in Nebraska. With over eleven years of dedicated experience within immigrant and refugee communities, Makenzie now focuses exclusively on providing immigration evaluations and running For All Counseling. Her specialized training through the Immigration Evaluation Institute and Physicians for Human Rights, coupled with her expertise in trauma-specific therapies like TF-CBT and EMDR, ensures a thorough and compassionate approach to each evaluation. Makenzie’s passion for increasing access to mental health care for all individuals led her to establish For All Counseling, driven by the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to share their story and have their mental health understood within the legal process.

As an immigrant herself, Claudia brings invaluable first-hand insight into these challenges. Her goal in conducting evaluations is to craft a well-articulated report that not only presents a structured narrative but also captures the individual’s unique essence, resulting in a strong and personalized assessment. Claudia, a first-generation Mexican whose first language is Spanish, has extensive experience working with trauma and domestic violence. She received specialized immigration evaluation training through Georgia King’s “Immigration Evaluation Training.” In addition to her work at For All Counseling, Claudia provides individual therapy through AM Counseling and Consulting, focusing on healing from traumatic life events using Brainspotting. As a therapist, she prioritizes building a trusting relationship, ensuring clients feel accepted and heard, and empowering them with coping skills to live their best lives. Claudia understands that taking the first step can be daunting and encourages individuals to reach out.

Odalys Pérez

Clinical Therapist

Odalys is a fully licensed bilingual (English-Spanish) and bicultural therapist in Nebraska and Iowa. She received specialized training in immigration mental health evaluations through the Immigration Evaluation Institute and has been conducting these evaluations for the past decade. In addition to her work at For All Counseling, Odalys founded Pérez Counseling Services, where she provides therapy to families and children. Over the past 12 years, she has supported hundreds of families through challenging times. As an immigrant herself, Odalys has a deep understanding of the barriers individuals and families face during immigration proceedings. Her aim is to support families through this process by providing comprehensive and immigration-standard compliant mental health evaluations. She is passionate about ensuring these reports accurately reflect each individual’s experiences.

Dr. Megan Manheim

Clinical & Forensic Psychologist

PhD (she/her)

Dr. Megan Manheim holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Forensic Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Her pre-doctoral internship at the Harris County Juvenile Probation Department (HCJPD) involved conducting psychological and forensic evaluations for the juvenile court system. Following her internship, Dr. Manheim completed a forensic fellowship with HCJPD’s mental health and commercial sexual exploitation specialty courts, where she evaluated youth and served as an expert consultant. Dr. Manheim’s diverse training includes conducting forensic evaluations for the federal legal system and providing therapy to adults and adolescents adjudicated for sexual offenses. Fluent in Spanish, she is a bilingual clinician with significant experience working with immigrant populations and is deeply committed to expanding this community’s access to mental health services.

David Soriano

David Soriano is a bilingual (English & Spanish) therapist who specializes in providing mental health evaluations for immigration cases. He completed his training through the Immigration Evaluation Institute and offers telehealth evaluations to enhance accessibility. David is committed to conducting thorough and objective assessments that accurately document the psychological impact of his clients’ experiences in an unbiased and professional manner. Alongside his work in immigration evaluations, David has extensive experience working with individuals, adolescents, and couples. He is passionate about helping couples build stronger relationships and overcome difficulties, holding Level 3 training in the Gottman Method and pursuing full certification. He also has training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples. David is dedicated to providing professional, ethical, and supportive services to all his clients, whether they are seeking evaluations or therapy.

Language Accessibility

While our current team of therapists offer services in English and Spanish, For All Counseling is committed to ensuring language is not a barrier to accessing our services. We have access to professional translation services to accommodate individuals who speak other languages. Please indicate your preferred language when you contact us, and we will arrange for a qualified translator to be present during the evaluation process to ensure clear and accurate communication.
